What other word can be used to describe the actions of those Jews who not only fail to see a coming danger but actively prevent people from warning of that danger? It is as if someone has rung a fire bell, or an air raid siren, but too many have either refused to hear it, or worse smeared those who set the alarm off.
Such a thing has happened in the United States where a Jewish anti-jihadist, Pamela Geller, was prevented from speaking at an Orthodox synagogue in Great Neck, New York State, USA. A complaint was made by a local Islamic group and, acting in concert with Left wing Jewish and Christian activists, they put pressure on the Synagogue to cancel the talk. I can understand the Synagogue’s cancellation of the talk if they were put in fear of their own security, which appears to have happened, but it is a sad and evil day when Jews try to silence other Jews who are warning of a threat, not only to Bene Israel, the Jewish people, but also to everybody else as well.
The history of the Jewish left is interesting and contains both heroes and villains. It is too detailed to go into here, but suffice to say there have been many people from Jewish backgrounds who have been instrumental in improving living and working conditions in countries around the world. Jewish ethical values often derived from Biblical commandments have influenced political reformers of both Right and Left throughout the modern era from the Enlightenment onwards. Examples are paying a workman on time, having honest weighing scales, leaving a corner of a harvested field for the poor to glean and helping the oppressed.
Unfortunately the Jewish Liberal / Left do appear to be going quite mad and no longer seem interested in reasonable leftist things such as living and working conditions. It seems as if various ideological bastard children of Marxist socialism are becoming the guiding force for Jewish Liberals and Leftists, instead of the ethical guide that is given in the Torah. The Jewish liberal left has given us some good examples of useful idiocy such as the Great Neck farago in the USA and support for the thuggish and very much pro Jihadi Unite Against Fascism in the UK. Far worse a betrayal of both Jew and Gentile, is the sight of leftist Jews in Western capitals marching in favour of Hamas, an organisation that has openly stated that it wishes to wipe out the state of Israel and all the Jews and Christians contained therein.
We have seen in Great Neck, New York, the disgusting spectacle of American Jews made idiotic by comfort and steeped in a Left wing morally relativist ideology, stopping a fellow Jew from warning all people, not just the Jewish ones, of an impending problem. Much more seriously, they have silenced a person on the instruction of a follower the ideology that was being warned about.
The moral relativists have stopped their own ears to the loud and repeated threats made by followers of the ideology of Islam, of a genocide against Jews and Christians. Those who have chosen not to listen to the threat of destruction and genocide are not content with only themselves not hearing warnings but wish to prevent others from being warned. Truly such people are morally lost, because they have seen evil ideologies in action, but instead have called them good ideologies. Liberal Jews and Liberal Christians have erected a socialist anti-western, anti-freedom and pro-Islamic ‘Golden Calf’ and worship it no matter what the cost to the culture, community or nation.
Caroline Glick writing in the Jerusalem Post muses on this ‘moral relativism’ that is all too present in Reform and Liberal Jewish communities both in the United States and elsewhere, notably the United Kingdom.
Ms Glick speaking about the situation in Great Neck said:
“ Geller is the nightmare of the liberal Jewish establishment.
She is a beautiful and articulate speaker and writer who has risen to prominence in the US for her steadfast commitment to exposing the deadly pathologies of Jew hatred, misogyny and other prejudices inherent to jihadist ideology.
Geller’s website, Atlas Shrugs, is a clearinghouse for information on Islamic persecution of women, Christians and apostates and hatred of Jews. She also showcases the documented ties between mainstream American Islamic groups and the Muslim Brotherhood.
An indefatigable defender of Israel, Geller recently ran a highly controversial, and successful ad campaign in the New York and San Francisco public transportation systems in response to an anti-Israel ad campaign. Her billboards read, “In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel, Defeat Jihad.”
Geller was scheduled to speak on April 13 at the Great Neck Synagogue in Great Neck, New York. The topic of her talk was “The Imposition of Shari’a in America.”
Last month, after learning of her talk, a consortium of Islamic and leftist activists in Nassau County led by Habeed Ahmed from the Islamic Center of Long Island launched a pressure campaign to coerce the synagogue into cancelling her speech. Members of the group telephoned the synagogue and castigated Geller as a bigot, and likened her to the Nazis in the 1930s.
In short order liberal rabbis Michael White and Jerome Davidson took over the opposition to Geller and launched a media campaign attacking her as a bigot and demanding that the Great Neck Synagogue cancel her speech.
Rejecting the distinction Geller makes between jihadists and their victims – Muslim and non- Muslim alike, White and Davidson claimed that she opposes all Muslims and so her speech must be canceled. By hosting her, they intoned, the Great Neck Synagogue would be guilty of propagating hate speech. Liberal Christian and Jewish activists and their Muslim associates threatened to protest the speech.”
The liberal Rabbonim, Michael White and Jerome Davidson, were utterly wrong to label Ms Geller with the smear of ‘bigot’. Neither were they correct in saying that warning about the dangers of Shariah Law and Jihad and the more unpleasant parts of Islamic ideology is ‘hate speech’. It is not hate speech to warn of a problem, it is not hate speech to warn against genocide, it is not hate speech to shout ‘fire’ when the crowded theatre really is on fire.
Thankfully this story has a happier ending and the Islamic fascists and their leftist allies have not had things all their own way. Two other Rabbis, one from the Orthodox Chabad movement, Rabbi Yoseph Geisinsky and Rabbi Dr. Bernhard Rosenberg from Congregaton Beth-El, a Conservative egalitarian synagogue, have offered Pamela Geller speaking engagements to replace the one cancelled by the management of Great Neck Synagogue.
It is heartening to see Rabbis Geisinsky and Rosenberg standing up for Ms Geller’s right to warn against the problems of Shariah and Jihad. These two Rabbis are braver and seemingly more morally grounded than the Leftist Jewish campaigners who got the original event cancelled. Kol HaKavod (much respect) to those who stood up to the Islamists and the Leftists on this one, especially to the two Rabbis who stepped in at the last minute and also to Ms Geller herself.
It is not, and should never be, a crime or bigotry or Loshan Hara (hateful gossip) to wake your children if there is a fire, all Ms Geller is trying to do is wake people up because like it or not a fire is coming and we are all, Jew and Gentile, at risk from it.

together and refuse to identify the evil doers. We are circumspect and
disgracefully politically correct. “
